Sundance 2025: ‘Atropia’ and ‘Twinless’ Take Top Honors

The Sundance Film Festival 2025 has concluded, and the winners of this year’s most prestigious independent film awards have been announced. The U.S. Grand Jury Prize for Dramatic Feature went to Atropia, marking it as the standout narrative film of the festival.

Meanwhile, Twinless not only secured the U.S. Dramatic Special Jury Award for Acting, with Dylan O’Brien earning recognition for his performance, but also won the coveted Audience Award for U.S. Dramatic Feature. The documentary section of Sundance 2025 was equally competitive, with Seeds, directed by Brittany Shyne, winning the U.S. Grand Jury Prize for Documentary. The Directing Award in this category went to Geeta Gandbhir for The Perfect Neighbor, while Life After earned a U.S. Documentary Special Jury Award.

Sundance 2025 also highlighted promising directors in the international category, with Mstyslav Chernov receiving the Directing Award for World Cinema Documentary for 2000 Meters to Andriivka, and Georgi M. Unkovski earning a Special Jury Award for Creative Vision for DJ Ahmet.
