Filming in Cleveland
James Gunn, co-head of DC Studios, shared on the social media platform Threads that the six-week shooting schedule in Cleveland has concluded. Gunn praised the city’s hospitality and the enthusiasm of its residents. “From the moment we first came here less than a year ago and saw Terminal Tower lit up in Superman colors, I knew this was a special place,” he wrote. Gunn’s appreciation for Cleveland underscores the city’s importance in the Superman legacy.
Enthusiastic Extras
Gunn also highlighted the positive energy and dedication of the background actors. “The wonderful extras in the film were always so fun and funny, and they clapped after takes, reminding us Hollywood cynics why we make movies,” he noted. This vibrant atmosphere motivated the cast and crew and emphasized Cleveland’s historical connection to the creation of Superman by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
Filming Nearing Completion
When asked by a fan if filming was completely finished, Gunn revealed that there are still “a couple of weeks left” of shooting. “It’s a long shoot… but we’re getting close!” he explained. The production, which began in February, marks the first major project under Gunn and Peter Safran’s leadership at DC Studios. The anticipation for this new chapter in the Superman saga is building as the final scenes are being filmed.
Star-Studded Cast
“Superman” will be the first feature film focused solely on the Man of Steel in over a decade. The storyline follows Superman as he reconciles his alien heritage with his human upbringing. In addition to Corenswet and Brosnahan, the impressive cast includes Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Milly Alcock as Supergirl, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, and many other notable actors.
Scheduled for release on July 11, 2025, “Superman” is highly anticipated. The combination of new faces and familiar characters promises an exciting fresh start for the iconic superhero.
