Blue Origin has revealed the names of five out of six passengers for its 10th crewed flight aboard the New Shepard rocket, set to launch soon from West Texas.

Notable Space Travelers
Among the chosen few are Lane Bess, a venture capitalist from Florida who previously flew with Blue Origin in 2021, and Jesús Calleja, a Spanish TV host, pilot, and mountaineer. Calleja’s adventures have taken him to the Seven Summits, both Poles, numerous deserts, active volcanoes, and ancient sinkholes.
A Mix of Entrepreneurship, Science, and Finance
Also on board are Elaine Chia Hyde, an entrepreneur, physicist, and pilot from Florida; Richard Scott, a reproductive endocrinologist and professor at Yale University and the University of South Carolina medical schools; and Tushar Shah, a partner at a New York hedge fund. The name of the sixth crew member has not yet been disclosed.
Brief Journey to Weightlessness
New Shepard flights last approximately 10 to 12 minutes from launch to capsule landing. During this time, passengers experience a few minutes of weightlessness and can view Earth against the blackness of space. Blue Origin has not yet revealed the cost for this experience.
Milestone in Space Tourism
The first crewed flight of New Shepard took place on July 20, 2021, marking the 52nd anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. This historic flight included Blue Origin’s founder and his brother Mark, aviation pioneer Wally Funk, and Dutch student Oliver Daemen. The upcoming flight, NS-30, will be the 30th flight of the New Shepard rocket overall.
